Status of the Podcast and I

As you have noticed, we have not recorded any episodes of The Scale Model Podcast since the early summer.

This is due to several factors: my wife’s health and ongoing care required at home, and my own mental and physical health.

Taking care of her, including getting to medical appts, making meals, etc., results in me being quite tired by the time evening comes. This is when normally I would be working on the bench or on the podcast. This also results in a lack of modelling mojo. I have sat down on the bench, opened a kit and said ‘nope, not today’ and closed the lid again.

We purchased an e-reader when she was in the hospital, and I’ve been using that to catch up on reading quite a few books I’ve been meaning to read over the years. I find that it is not too taxing on my brain.

She is getting more mobile every week, and we are hoping to schedule surgery to reverse the colostomy and improve her quality of life. I’m hoping that when that happens, I’ll have more mental and physical capacity to get back with the podcast and the bench.

Be well.

Scale Model Podcast taking a break

Due to ongoing health issues with my wife, I don’t have the mental or physical bandwidth to create a high quality podcast worthy of our listeners at this time.

I’ll be taking a break from producing new shows for at least the next month or so, until my wife’s health improves.

I have paused the Patreon payout for November 1st and until we come back on the air, Patreon supporters will not be charged.

I hope to have the podcast back on the air before too long. Thank you for your support.

The Start of Video

I’ve started playing around more with video now that I have time (and a system) capable of editing and rendering it much quicker.

One of the plans will be to release episode segments with videos to take you ‘behind the scenes.  Other ideas are in the works as well.

In the first video, I introduce the concept in a bit more detail.  The second video features our guest from Episode 105 Ross Waddell as he explains the wiring behind his 1/350 TOS Enterprise.  The show notes are a fantastic resource as he has included quite a bit to help you try this yourself.
